KAAD describes its scholarship work as three programmes under “KAAD: Scholarships.” Scholarship Programme 1 includes the Invitation Programme (with focus countries), the In-country Programme for Master’s studies in the home country at fifteen locations in eight countries, and the Third-country Programme for Master’s studies in a selected third country. It also includes Master’s studies in the home country through the In-country Programme across listed locations in Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Peru, and Zimbabwe, and Master’s studies in selected third-country locations (with examples given for students from Myanmar studying in Bangkok/Thailand).
Scholarship Programme 2 supports students from countries of the Global South who are already studying for a PhD or Master’s degree in Germany. The Catholic University Chaplaincies have the right to propose suitable applicants. The page also indicates that the Eastern Europe Programme operates in cooperation with partner committees for PhD and Master’s programmes and shorter study and research stays in Germany.
