• Funding prerequisite: performed well (average grade of at least 2.5 achieved so far)
• Funding prerequisite: successful completion of studies is expected within one year, as certified by the Examination Office; studies are expected to be completed by March 31 of the following year (applications for the summer semester) or by September 30 of the following year (applications for the winter semester) AND at least 45% of the credits for the entire degree program have been completed OR the thesis has already been registered

• Funding prerequisite: evidence of ongoing, regular commitment in an international context at TUD (volunteer or minimally compensated), which will continue during the STIBET funding period, such as mentoring international students, assisting in cultural events or tandem/mentoring programmes
• Funding prerequisite: continuation of the commitment during the scholarship within the funding period (the commitment must take place or continue during the funding period)

• Engagement criteria: must have at least during the semester before the start of the scholarship (future engagements cannot be counted)
• Engagement criteria: officially counts as an volunteer position (= activities carried out for others in a self-determined and non-profit manner and oriented towards the common good) and is only marginally remunerated, if at all
• Engagement criteria: should have a minimum duration of 6 months; if shorter, a high level of impact must be demonstrated (example given: a large-scale fundraising campaign)
• Engagement criteria: written proof from a TU internal institution or association about the duration, scope and nature of the social or intercultural commitment must be submitted (with official letterhead of the institution and contact details of the person issuing the certificate)

1. Prepare a complete application using the Application form for a STIBET Scholarship.
2. Submit required documents in digital form (PDF documents named Last name_First name, max. 10 MB) exclusively by the specified application deadline.
3. Send the complete application documents by email with the subject line: DAAD STIBET.
4. After sending the email, use the automatically generated ticket number as confirmation of receipt of the scholarship application.
5. Note: applicants with incomplete or missing application documents cannot be considered for a scholarship.
6. Deadlines depend on the funding period: 1 February until 18 March for the funding period 1 April - 30 September, and 1 August until 8 September for the funding period 1 October - 31 March.
