The Master of Education in Teaching in Higher Education Programme (M.Ed-THEd) is designed to train academics in practical principles of teaching, learning, assessment, and research in higher education. It addresses the need for high-quality teaching responsive to diverse student bodies and modern technologies. The programme targets academic staff in universities, colleges of education, nursing and midwifery training colleges, technical universities, and master's or doctoral degree holders aiming to teach in tertiary institutions without formal teaching qualifications. It is structured as a sandwich programme to improve institutional teaching and learning capacity in higher education in Ghana.
Applicants include academic/teaching staff of public and private universities, tutors in colleges of education, nursing and midwifery training colleges, lecturers in technical universities, and all master and doctoral degree holders aspiring to teach in tertiary institutions but lacking formal teaching qualifications.
