Guinness Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme
The Guinness Undergraduate Scholarships is offered to Nigerian students from Guiness Nigeria’s host communities currently studying in Universities and Polytechnics in Nigeria. The host communities are in Lagos, Edo and Abia states of Nigeria. Guinness Nigeria, a subsidiary of Diageo Plc of the United Kingdom, was incorporated in 1962 with the building of a brewery in Ikeja, the heart of Lagos. The brewery was the first outside of Ireland and Great Britain. Other breweries have been opened over time – Benin City brewery in 1974 and Ogba brewery in 1982.
Guinness Nigeria Plc offers the Guinness Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme. Applications are invited from suitably qualified students in Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics who wish to be considered for the Guinness Undergraduate Scholarships. The Guinness Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme supports Guiness Nigeria’s commitment to implementing transformative schemes that foster youth development in its host communities.
1). The scholarship is for students from Guiness Nigeria’s host communities who are currently studying in Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics.
Students from the following communities are therefore encouraged to apply:
- Ogba, Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos State
- Oregbeni, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State.
- Egbeluowo, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, Abia State
- Odeukwu, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, Abia State
2). Applications are only open to student from the above communities.
3). Candidates must be first or second year students in Nigerian Universities or Polytechnics
Candidates may be required to write an aptitude test
Eligible Nationalities: Only Citizens of Nigeria (from Guiness Nigeria’s host communities)
Subject Offered: All undergraduate level courses offered by accredited Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics
Scholarship benefits: The scholarship will provide full tuition for students from Guiness Nigeria’s host communities who are currently studying in Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics.
