The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Convergent Media and Communication Technology (BA-CMCT) is an interdisciplinary programme that combines media theory and practice with communication technology. Students build skills in interactive media, Internet communications, and mobile platforms. They also study digital media production methods across sound, TV, video, desktop publishing, web-media, and micro-film, plus human communication fundamentals including communication theories, intercultural communication, and media law and ethics.
The curriculum follows a “Liberal + Professional” education model and totals 120 credits. It includes Major Studies, Common Core Curriculum, Business Education, and Elective modules. Students can take “internship” as an elective module in the summer to apply what they learn in classroom settings at media and communication organisations. The programme structure includes modules such as Introduction to Journalism and Communication, Introduction to Multimedia, and Introduction to Internet and Programming, plus later modules like Interactive Web Service Technology and Web-media Production.
