The Doctor of Philosophy / Master of Philosophy (Academy of Music) at Hong Kong Baptist University is a research postgraduate programme for study in music. Research areas include French Baroque Keyboard, Historical Performance, Performance Practice, Music Composition, Prepared Musical Instruments, Sound Installations, Music Psychology Neuroscience, Aesthetics, Music for Health and Well-being, History of Sensibility, 18th-century Aesthetics, Enlightenment Studies, Music Philosophy, Musicology and Music Pedagogy, Music and AI, Interface Development, Music Technology and Interdisciplinary Research, Music Education.
Students can study full-time or part-time. Tuition is shown as referential, and self-funded fees are subject to review. Funding is described as UGC/RGC-funded or self-funded. Applicants can also apply for full-time PhD study under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, with concurrent consideration for regular research postgraduate programmes. A non-refundable admission confirmation fee, including the first instalment of tuition fee and other administrative fees, must be paid upon acceptance.
