The Doctor of Philosophy / Master of Philosophy in Physics at Hong Kong Baptist University is a research postgraduate programme within the Department of Physics. Students focus their study in experimental areas such as metamaterials, microfluidics, molecular electronics, chiral nanoplasmonics, nanoelectronics, optics and transports of organic thin films, and bio-imaging and modeling of cell dynamics, biophotonics and single molecule biophysics. Students also work in theoretical areas including bioinformatics and systems biology, complex dynamical systems, condensed matter and statistical physics, complex neural dynamics and information processing, and statistical physics of machine learning.
The programme is offered in full-time and part-time modes. Funding options include UGC/RGC-funded and self-funded routes, and self-funded tuition fees are listed with annual figures for full-time and part-time study.
