This programme offers Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy study in Religion and Philosophy. Students focus on Religious Studies topics such as Chinese Popular Religions, Christianity, Confucianism, Daoism, Chinese Christianity, Modern Critique of Religion, and Religious Ethics. They also study Philosophical Studies areas including Chinese Philosophical Traditions, Comparative Philosophical Studies, Normative Ethics, Applied Ethics (such as AI Ethics or Peace studies), Logic, Metaphysics, and Philosophy of Language.

Study is available in full-time or part-time mode. Tuition differs by funding and mode, and self-funded tuition fees are reviewed. Applicants may also apply for full-time PhD study under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, which is established by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council and supports candidates with evidence of academic excellence, research ability, and communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
