Doctor of Philosophy Master of Philosophy School of Communication

The Doctor of Philosophy / Master of Philosophy in Communications at Hong Kong Baptist University is a fee-paid research postgraduate programme. Students develop research in communication-related areas including Communication Studies topics such as Crisis and Risk Communication, Health Communication, and Mobile and Social Media and Digital Stakeholder Engagement. The Journalism area includes topics such as Media Law and Data Journalism, and the Interactive Media area includes topics such as Artificial intelligence ethics and Cybersecurity and privacy.

Study is available in full-time and part-time modes. Tuition depends on funding and study mode, with self-funded full-time and self-funded part-time rates listed. Applicants follow the School of Communication admission procedures and can apply through either regular research postgraduate programmes or the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme for full-time PhD study, with concurrent consideration for regular research postgraduate programmes.
