Hong Kong Polytechnic University PolyU SPEED Belt and Road Scholarship

PolyU SPEED announces the PolyU SPEED Belt and Road Scholarship to support outstanding tertiary/high school graduates from Belt and Road countries/regions to pursue full-time undergraduate top-up degree programmes at PolyU SPEED or full-time associate degree and higher diploma programmes at PolyU HKCC. It also aims to facilitate educational and cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Belt and Road countries/regions.

Eligibility depends on the programme route. For PolyU SPEED programmes, it is for tertiary graduates from Belt and Road countries/regions who have outstanding academic and/or non-academic performance and are admitted to a 2-year full-time undergraduate top-up degree programme (senior year admission) at PolyU SPEED. For PolyU HKCC programmes, it is for high school graduates from Belt and Road countries/regions with outstanding academic and/or non-academic performance who are admitted to a 2-year full-time sub-degree programme at PolyU HKCC.

Selection for the scholarship awards is based on each student’s academic and/or non-academic performance. The scholarship is awarded as either a full-tuition scholarship or a half-tuition scholarship according to that performance.

• Applicants must be from Belt and Road countries/regions.
• For PolyU SPEED programmes: applicants must be tertiary graduates with outstanding academic and/or non-academic performance.
• For PolyU HKCC programmes: applicants must be high school graduates with outstanding academic and/or non-academic performance.
• For PolyU SPEED programmes: applicants must be admitted to a 2-year full-time undergraduate top-up degree programme (senior year admission) at PolyU SPEED.
• For PolyU HKCC programmes: applicants must be admitted to a 2-year full-time sub-degree programme at PolyU HKCC.
• PolyU SPEED programme entrance requirement includes being a holder of an Associate Degree / Higher Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• PolyU HKCC programme entrance requirements include one of the following: (a) high school graduation from Belt and Road countries/regions with outstanding academic and/or non-academic performance; or (b) qualifications equivalent to the above; or (c) being an applicant who has reached the age of 25 before 1 September in the admission year and demonstrating English proficiency and suitability to study to the satisfaction of the admission panel; or (d) for Higher Diploma Programmes, relevant and substantial work experience and/or prior qualifications obtained in or outside Hong Kong, assessed through recognition of prior learning and credit accumulation and transfer, with demonstrated ability to undertake sub-degree education.
• Applicants must apply online via the programme’s online application for admission in order to be considered for the scholarship.

• Either a full-tuition scholarship or a half-tuition scholarship is awarded based on academic and/or non-academic performance.

1. Apply online for admission using the PolyU SPEED online application for admission if applying for PolyU SPEED undergraduate top-up degree programmes.
2. Apply online for admission using the HKCC online application for admission if applying for PolyU HKCC sub-degree programmes.
3. Submit the application online on or before 2025-05-31 to be considered for the PolyU SPEED Belt and Road Scholarship.
