Dongguk University: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

Dongguk University is a public university in South Korea. It suits international applicants looking for a master’s-level option at a university with a clear film-and-imaging arts focus and a Buddhist affiliation.

  2. What you can study

The visible programme catalogue is limited to one master’s degree programme: スポーツ健康科学研究科. The university is also known for film and imaging arts, and its summary points to that area as a major strength, but the currently listed programme information is still very limited.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should apply through the university’s official admissions process and check the website for entry requirements, deadlines, required documents, and any language or degree-specific conditions. The university website is http://www.dongguk.ac.kr/; confirm the current application steps there before applying.

  4. What it costs

The university does not publish a tuition fee range. Confirm the current tuition and any additional charges with the admissions office; living costs in Seoul should also be budgeted separately.

  5. Coming from abroad

The university has a website in South Korea and the available programme listing includes Japanese text, but the language of instruction is not stated. Before applying, check the teaching language, whether your previous degree meets the entry requirement, and what documents are needed for an international application.

  6. How it compares

South Korea has 245 universities, so Dongguk University sits in a large higher-education market. Its main point of difference is its Buddhist affiliation and its strong association with film and imaging arts, which makes it more specific in focus than many general universities in the country.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
