Bachelor of Architecture

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham offers the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) through the Amrita School of Architecture. Students study foundations of design, architectural design studios, building materials and technology, structural systems in design, and courses in history and culture, art appreciation, and environmental design. The curriculum also includes elements focused on Indian heritage and life skills for architects.

Teaching is organised by semesters with studio and technology-focused components, including architectural working drawing, building physics and energy modelling, integrated building systems, and advanced building construction. The programme also includes professional electives and Professional Training in Semester VII, plus Research in Architecture in Semester VIII. Students are invited to bring a portfolio with sketches, drawings, and other creative assignments for counseling and interview sessions.

Eligibility for the 5-Year B.Arch program at Amrita School of Architecture, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham follows the guidelines of the Council of Architecture (CoA), India:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
• OR candidates must have completed a 10+3 Diploma (in any stream) recognized by the Central/State Governments with Mathematics as a compulsory subject, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
• Candidates must have a valid score in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture or JEE Paper 2 conducted by NTA.

Selection includes application submission, entrance test score submission (valid NATA/JEE Paper 2 score), merit-based shortlisting based on NATA score and academic performance, and counseling and interview sessions. Shortlisted candidates are encouraged to bring their portfolio along with sketches, drawings and other creative assignments.
