National Institute of Technology Calicut: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

National Institute of Technology Calicut is a public technical university in India and an institute of national importance. It suits students looking for technical education in a national-level institute with a broad domestic reach.

  2. What you can study

It is a technical university. The institute is described as having a dedicated nanotechnology department, and it also hosts a supercomputer on campus. No wider programme catalogue is provided here, so confirm the current subject list on the official website.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should check the official website for the current application route, entry requirements, deadlines, and document list. The institute is a public university in India and an institute of national importance, but any programme-specific admission rules and whether there are separate international student steps need to be confirmed with admissions.

  4. What it costs

A tuition fee for international students is not published. Confirm the current rate with the admissions office. Living costs will depend on housing, food, transport, and personal spending in the Kozhikode area.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not stated, so confirm that before applying. Also check visa requirements, whether your chosen programme accepts international applicants, what academic documents need translation or attestation, and how tuition payment is handled from abroad.

  6. How it compares

Among India’s 475 universities, this is one of the country’s national-level technical institutes rather than a general university. Its strongest draw is the technical focus and its status as an institute of national importance, so it makes more sense for students seeking engineering or related study than for someone looking for a broad mixed-subject university.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
