Analytics and Research in Government Internships, New Zealand.

The Analytics and Research in Government (ARG) Internship Programme is a 12-week paid internship that places students within a government agency to work on real data alongside New Zealand's leading analysts. The programme is designed to give students hands-on experience in using data to solve real-world problems, and to help them develop the skills they need to succeed in a career in data analytics and research.

The ARG Internship Programme is open to students who are enrolled in a degree program in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field. Applicants must have a strong academic record and be interested in working in the public sector.

The internship programme is offered in two intakes: one in the summer (December-February) and one in the fall (July-September). Interns are placed in government agencies across New Zealand, and they work on a variety of projects, such as:

  • Developing data-driven insights to inform policy decisions
  • Designing and implementing data-driven solutions to improve government services
  • Conducting data analysis and research
  • Communicating data findings to stakeholders

In addition to their work on projects, interns also participate in a variety of professional development activities, such as:

  • Weekly workshops on data analytics and research
  • Mentorship from senior analysts and researchers
  • Networking opportunities with other interns and professionals in the field

The ARG Internship Programme is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience in data analytics and research, and to network with professionals in the field. If you are interested in a career in data analytics and research, the ARG Internship Programme is a great way to get started.
