Queen’s Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP) in Canada, 2017

Applications are invited for Queen’s Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP) to study in Canada. The program is open to domestic and international students in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Faculty of Arts and Science, and School of Computing. Students must have a minimum GPA of 1.9 and the permission from their undergraduate chair to register in QUIP. QUIP internships are paid.

Eligibility: The program is open to students in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science (domestic and international), Faculty of Arts and Science (domestic and international), School of Computing (domestic and international).

  • Queen’s students can participate in QUIP after their 2nd or 3rd year of studies and must be returning to complete their final academic term after the internship. See faculty specific registration form for more details.
  • Students must have a minimum GPA of 1.9 and the permission from their undergraduate chair to register in QUIP.
  • International students require a Co-op/Intern Work Permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to participate in QUIP. International students participating in QUIP must apply to extend their Study Permit to reflect the new completion date of their degree. Students will be provided with a letter from the QUIP office to submit with their application to CIC. Please visit the Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC) to learn more about requirements for work and study permits.

Internship Description: The Queen’s Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP) provides students with a 12-16 month work experience. QUIP internships are paid, professionally supervised, career-related positions designed to offer second or third-year students the opportunity to learn about current advances, practices, and technologies in business and industry.

  • Attend a pre-departure workshop
  • Begin your internship!

  • Read the QUIP Policies and Regulations
  • Ensure you are eligible – minimum GPA of 1.9 and returning for your final academic term after the internship
  • Complete and sign the registration form
  • Have the departmental Chair of Undergraduate Studies sign the registration form
  • Return the registration form to Career Services Reception (3rd floor, Gordon Hall) along with the $35 registration fee, payable by cash, cheque or credit card (cheques made payable to Queen’s University).
