UNDP Internship Opportunities with the Climate and Environment Team (6 Openings) 2024

Background About the UNDP:

The UNDP serves as the global development network for the United Nations, advocating for transformative change and facilitating the exchange of knowledge, experience, and resources among countries to enhance people’s quality of life. Operating in 166 countries, we collaborate with nations to address global and national development challenges through locally tailored solutions. Within UNDP, the Climate and Environment Team (CET) leads vital projects aimed at expediting shifts toward sustainable development, specifically focusing on the ongoing socio-economic crisis, climate challenges, and broader environmental issues. This is achieved through close collaboration with relevant government stakeholders across three core thematic areas: Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Energy & Waste Management, and Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction.

The CET actively supports governments in fulfilling their international commitments, including compliance with the three Rio conventions, while reinforcing policies and institutions to ensure environmental sustainability and disaster resilience. Additionally, the program facilitates partnerships, enhances networks with stakeholders, and shares knowledge to effectively address climate and environmental concerns, supporting endeavors towards achieving sustainable and environmentally conscious development.
