Sadra University: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

Sadra University is a public university in Iran. It suits applicants who want a straightforward university option in the country and need to verify the academic offer directly before applying.

  2. What you can study

The university’s programme catalogue is not published in the available details, so the subjects and degrees it offers still need to be checked on its official website. What is clear is that it is a public university in Iran, so the first step is to confirm which programmes are open to international applicants.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should use the university website and admissions office to confirm entry requirements, application documents, deadlines, and whether any programme-specific conditions apply. The university does not provide enough public detail here to confirm language requirements, so those should be checked before applying.

  4. What it costs

Tuition fees for international students are not published, so confirm the current rate with the admissions office. Living costs in Iran will still depend on city, housing, transport, and personal spending, so plan for those separately.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not published, so check this before you apply. Also confirm visa steps, document translation needs, application deadlines, and whether the programme you want accepts international students.

  6. How it compares

Iran has 193 universities, so Sadra University sits in a large higher-education system with many alternatives. As a public university, it may suit applicants who want to compare several institutions in Iran directly on programme availability, admissions rules, and fees rather than relying on a small or specialised system.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.

Overview

Ṣadr ad-Dīn Muḥammad Shīrāzī, more commonly known as Mullā Ṣadrā, was an Iranian Twelver Shi'i Islamic mystic, philosopher, theologian, and ‘Ālim who led the cultural renaissance in the country during the 17th century. According to Oliver Leaman, Mulla Sadra is arguably the single most important and influential philosopher in the Muslim world in the last four hundred years. Though not its founder, he is considered the master of the Illuminationist school of Philosophy, a seminal figure who synthesized the many tracts of the Islamic Golden Age philosophies into what he called the Transcendent Theosophy or al-hikmah al-muta’āliyah.
