Bocconi University Horizon Europe Fellowship

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) scheme is aimed at supporting researchers’ careers and fostering excellence in research. The fellowships are designed to enhance the potential of researchers holding a PhD who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training and international, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectoral mobility. Bocconi offers this MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship with arrangements linked to the MSCA scheme.

The fellowships are offered to excellent researchers of any nationality undertaking international mobility either to or between EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, as well as to associated Third Countries. Bocconi welcomes expressions of interest from postdoctoral candidates who wish to apply to have the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship hosted at Bocconi.

Bocconi describes an internal process where eligible applicants’ applications are sent to selected supervisors for assessment. Supervisors then select one candidate per project. Bocconi also states that eligible candidates must meet the scheme eligibility conditions related to PhD status, research experience, and recent residence or main activity in the relevant country or host context.

The standard duration of the fellowships must be between 12 and 24 months, with 36 months for Global Fellowships. Bocconi indicates it will provide support from the Bocconi Grants Office throughout the application process and offer the opportunity to attend an online proposal writing training session. Bocconi also provides a limited number of travel grants to cover travel and accommodation expenses for researchers to spend a few days at Bocconi.

• Applicants must have a PhD degree at the time of the deadline for applications (09.09.2026); applicants who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis but have not yet formally been awarded the doctoral degree will also be considered eligible to apply.
• Applicants must have a maximum of 8 years’ experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree; years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count toward the maximum.
• Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary (for European Postdoctoral Fellowships), or the host organisation for the outgoing phase (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships) for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.

1. Bocconi welcomes expressions of interest from postdoctoral candidates who wish to apply for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship to be hosted at Bocconi University.
2. Submit the application by April 15th at 12:00 PM through the dedicated form.
3. Do not submit applications via email, as Bocconi states that applications received via email will not be considered.
4. Wait for notification of the outcome of the application by April 20th via email.
5. Bocconi sends the application of eligible candidates to the selected supervisors for their assessment, and supervisors select one candidate per project.
