Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarship

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarships provide educational expense support for students who face economic reasons that make it difficult to study. The support can be given as a grant and/or a loan.

At Tohoku University of Art and Design, many students are selected each year, including reserved placement students, and about 60% of all students are scholarship recipients. For students applying for tuition-related reductions (including expanded support for multi-child households), application for JASSO grant scholarships is required.

• Educational expenses supported through JASSO scholarships as a grant and/or a loan.

1. Apply for a JASSO grant scholarship when applying for tuition fee reductions (including expanded support for multi-child households).
2. For situations where family finances change suddenly due to specific unforeseeable events, apply for a grant scholarship for urgent needs when the income situation after the change is not yet reflected in residence tax information.
