Bachelor of Education Science

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed Science) at Daystar University trains professionally qualified teachers who can teach and provide effective servant leadership and management at all levels of education. It builds a broad foundation of theoretical and professional knowledge in education and also focuses on concepts, skills, and knowledge in specific science-related disciplines.

Admission considers either grade-based qualifications or prior education qualifications, including Diploma in Education pathways and specific subject combinations. The programme includes entry routes using combinations such as Mathematics / Physics, Mathematics / Computer Science, Physics / Chemistry, Physics / Computer Science, Mathematics / Business Studies, and Computer Science / Business Studies.

Applicants to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed Science) must fulfil entry requirements that apply to all Daystar undergraduate students, i.e.

• An overall minimum grade of C+ in KCSE or at least 4 credits in IGCSE with at least 2 credit passes at 'A' level/GCE .
• OR Have a Diploma in Education from a recognized institution or its equivalent OR
• Have a Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (A level) with a minimum of two principle passes and a subsidiary or its equivalent OR
• Have a Division III at KCE or EACE with a diploma in Education or equivalent
• Have P1 Certificate with a minimum of a C plain in KCSE
• Combination: Mathematics / Physics; Mathematics / Computer Science; Physics / Chemistry; Physics / Computer Science; Mathematics / Business Studies; Computer Science / Business Studies
