Master of Arts in Communication Studies

The Master of Arts in Communication Studies at United States International University is a two-year on-campus program offered during the Spring intake. It integrates conceptual, research, and practical approaches with technology to prepare students for communication challenges in today's technological environment, including digital and mobile platforms. Students learn to design and implement communication strategies, evaluate communication programs, manage projects, and apply research methods to communication issues locally and internationally. The program uses pedagogical methods that emphasize student-centered learning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, or related field with minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
• OR at least three years professional experience in communications or related field
• Proof of secondary/high school completion or signed attestation of graduation date
• Official transcripts for all post-secondary education with degrees and dates
• Two-page essay addressing professional objectives and additional evaluation factors
• Two letters of recommendation

Students without Communication Studies background must take 12 units of remedial courses before starting the MA program.
