Master of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies

The Master of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies at Daystar University is designed to address complex leadership and policy issues facing the education economy. Students study core areas including Organizational Theory in Education, Program Evaluation in Education, Education Foundations and Practice, Education Finance, Education Law, Education Research Methods, Statistics in Education, Technology and the 21st Century Pedagogy, Politics and Economics of Education, Dynamics of Education Change, Educational Policy Analysis and Methods, Educational Leadership Policy, Environmental Sustainability, Policy and Leadership, and Seminar in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Students also complete a Thesis/capstone.

Coursework is delivered fully online, with instructor-guided and peer-to-peer problem-based learning methodologies. The programme includes 18 months of intense online classroom engagement covering both coursework and the Thesis. Students take a set of common and core courses, and choose one elective: Communication and Emotional Intelligence in Education, Institutions and Community Relations, or Legal and Policy Framework for child safeguarding.

The programme is aimed at teachers/educators, school principals, school owners/directors, policy makers from government and non-governmental organizations, corporate organizations, church and para-church Christian organizations/ministries, non-profit organizations, local and international service providers, development agencies, research practitioners, and policy developers.

Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale or an Upper Second Class Honours. A Lower Second Class Honours with 2 years' relevant work experience may be considered.
