Master of Science in Economics Programme

The Master of Science in Economics at Daystar University is offered in the School of Business and Economics. The university participates in the East African Community Scholarship Programme Phase II, with student beneficiaries studying the Master of Science in Economics. The scholarship programme is coordinated by the Inter-University Council for East Africa, and it is intended to support postgraduate study in an EAC Partner State other than an applicant’s country of citizenship.

For scholarship implementation, universities approved as host institutions are required to advertise the scholarship opportunity and provide information on the approved programme, admission requirements, application procedures, applicable fees, and scholarship eligibility criteria. Applicants go through two stages: an admission application into the approved master’s programme, and a separate scholarship application through IUCEA and Adroit Consult International. Selection is handled by institutional selection committees that prepare evaluation and selection reports for IUCEA and Adroit Consult International.

To qualify for the EACSP Scholarship at Daystar University, applicants must be admitted for the Master of Science in Economics programme in the School of Business and Economics, be aged below 35 years, and be EAC nationals from Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, Rwanda, South Sudan, United Republic of Tanzania, and Uganda.
