The Elder Gene Hyun Memorial Scholarship

The Elder Gene Hyun Memorial Scholarship is driven by the mission of Dr. Jewel Hyun and the Matthew 28 Ministries. It honors the late Elder Chul Woo “Gene” Hyun and is for students in the School of Theology. The stated objective is to identify and mentor “Disciple-Makers” who graduate with a mission to transform the African church.

The scholarship supports students who maintain a high GPA and demonstrate active involvement in Christian ministry. It is presented as part of the School of Theology scholarship support at St. Paul’s University.

Selection involves a rigorous vetting process by the University Scholarship Committee. Applications proceed through phases that include submission of a Statement of Need with academic transcripts and a recommendation letter, and shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview to assess alignment with the university’s core values.

University scholarships are provided each academic year to assist academically-deserving and needy students.
