KU Leuven Scholarship Coverage
The KU Leuven Scholarship offers:
- Scholarship amount of up to 10,000 Euro for 1 year.
- Tuition fee for 1 year.
- Insurance coverage.
- Basic health insurance.
- Variable living expenses allowance.
Even with a full 10,000 Euro scholarship, it is advisable to have extra funds.
Continuation of the scholarship for the second master year depends on outstanding results in the first year.
Eligibility Criteria for KU Leuven Scholarship
To be eligible for the KU Leuven Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Language Requirement: Proficiency in English (TOEFL minimum score of 94 or IELTS minimum score of 7).
- Nationality: Open to students from all countries.
- Prior Affiliation: Applicants should not have studied or worked at the University of Leuven previously.
- Educational Background: Hold a bachelor’s degree from a foreign university that grants access to the desired master’s program.
- Academic Achievement: Demonstrate excellent academic performance in previous studies.
- Motivation: Exhibit strong motivation to pursue a master’s program at the Faculty of Science of KU Leuven.
- Ambassadorship: Be willing to represent the program as an ambassador.
- Contract Agreement: Scholarship recipients are required to sign a contract outlining acceptance conditions.

Application Procedure for KU Leuven Scholarship
Follow these steps to apply for the KU Leuven Scholarship:
- Master Program Application: Apply for your preferred master program through the KU Leuven application tool. Carefully read the application instructions.
- Document Upload: Within the KU Leuven application tool, upload the following documents:
- A comprehensive list of credited course titles, including course size (in ECTS-credits) and achieved results.
- A brief description (one-half to one page) adhering to ECTS study guide standards for relevant courses.
- Two reference letters from internationally renowned professors.
- A motivational letter for the program.
- Screen Capture: After submitting your master’s program application, take a screenshot of the confirmation message. This screenshot is needed for scholarship registration.
- Scholarship Application: Apply for the Science@Leuven Scholarship using this link.
- Complete Registration: Your registration will be finalized upon receipt of an email confirming your Science@Leuven Scholarship registration.
Important Note
- Only candidates who meet all requirements will be considered for the scholarship.
- You can apply for the scholarship immediately after applying for your desired program; there is no need to wait for program acceptance. However, scholarship applications will not be considered if program acceptance is unlikely.
