The San Diego Indian American Society offers Mahatma Gandhi Memorial  Scholarships in USA. This scholarship is for pursuing undergraduate degree. Ten  scholarships are awarded San Diego county high school graduates every year. The  International students in USA can apply for this scholarship. Selection criteria  are academic excellence, community involvement, financial need and educational  background of parents, statement of purpose, recommendation, and essay.

Study Subject(s): The scholarship is provided to learn any  of the courses offered by the universities. Course Level:  This scholarship is for pursuing undergraduate degree level. Scholarship Provider: The San Diego Indian American Society Scholarship can be taken at: USA

Eligibility: -We invite you to nominate two of your  graduating seniors with a grade point average of at least 3.8. -Total Awards  and United States Congressional Certificate of Achievement to Graduating Seniors  of San Diego County High Schools Based on Academic Excellence, Community  Involvement and an Essay on Non-Violent Means for Conflict Resolution. -The  Scholarship is open to all students, irrespective of national origin.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries:  International students can apply for this.

Scholarship Description: The San Diego Indian American  Society is soliciting your cooperation once again this year to request  participation from the top graduating seniors of your high school for the 2013  Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Scholarships.

Number of awards offered: Scholarships are awarded to a  minimum of ten San Diego county high school graduates every year.

Duration of award(s): Not Known

What does it cover? From $1,000 and above; $40,000 of total  awards are offered for graduating seniors of your high school.

Selection Criteria: The criteria for selection include:   (1) Academic excellence (2) Community involvement (3) Statement of  purpose for college (4) An original essay on “nonviolent means for conflict  resolution” (5) Recommendations by teachers and (6) Financial need and  educational background of parents.

Notification: Students will be notified by1 June.

How to Apply: Your School should nominate you. Your  nomination package should include the completed application by the student and  the counselor along with the supporting materials

Scholarship Application Deadline: The deadline for  applications is May 08, 2013.
