Bachelor in Islamic Banking Honours

The Bachelor in Islamic Banking (Honours) at Management and Science University is designed to equip students with the fundamentals and methodology of Islamic banking and the financial system. Students study key concepts and operating principles in Islamic banking compared with conventional banking, with preparation for the demands of the Islamic banking industry.

Learning includes academic instruction from lecturers who share knowledge and expertise, with transferable communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills. The programme includes course work such as Islamic Capital Market, Islamic Bank Management, Financial Risk Management, Takaful, and Islamic Wealth Management. It also includes Industrial Training.

• ENTRANCE QUALIFICATION BASED ON PROGRAM STANDARD (MUAMALAT AND ISLAMIC FINANCE) 2ND EDITION 2019 (UPDATED JANUARY 2022:
• For Muamalat Programme: i. A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent; OR ii. A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid; OR iii. A recognised Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.0; OR iv. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) or equivalent in MIF or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.5; (Candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be admitted subject to an internal assessment process) OR v. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government. AND vi. A Pass in the Arabic language at SPM level or equivalent.
• Note: i. The pass in Arabic language at SPM level can be waived should the achievement obtained at STPM/STAM/Matriculation/Foundation/Diploma or equivalent is equivalent/higher. ii. Candidate without a pass in Arabic language at SPM level or equivalent, is required to undergo Arabic language enhancement course at the beginning of the programme. iii. Students must pass the Arabic enhancement course as a prerequisite to related core courses. However, this still allows students to take both core and non-core courses that do not require Arabic language enhancement course. iv. Credit for Arabic language enhancement course is additional to the programme and can be considered for the graduating credit.
• For Islamic Economics, Islamic Finance and Muamalat Administration programme: i. A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects and a pass in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR ii. A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid and a pass in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR iii. A recognised Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a pass in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR iv. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in MIF or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or equivalent; (Candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be admitted subject to an internal assessment process) OR v. Any other Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 and a pass in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR vi. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government.
• Note: i. The pass in Mathematics at SPM level for candidate (i), (ii), (iii) and (v) can be waived should the qualification contains Mathematics with equivalent/higher achievement. ii. Students is required to undergo Arabic language enhancement course at the beginning of the programme except to candidate with a pass in Arabic language at STPM/STAM/Matriculation/Foundation/Diploma or equivalent/ higher. iii. Students must pass the Arabic enhancement course as a prerequisite to related core courses. However, this still allows students to take both core and non-core courses that do not require Arabic language enhancement course. iv. Credit for Arabic language enhancement course is additional to the programme and can be considered for the graduating credit.
