About this program

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Digital Advertising at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) prepares you for creative and strategic advertising for the digital ecosystem. You study digital advertising technology, concept creation, and creative thinking, with design research, theoretical learning, and studio projects. Teaching covers advertising campaigns through creative thinking, strategy and planning, idea generation, integrated communications, art direction, and copywriting.

Delivery is full time over 3 years. The degree is structured across Degree Level 1, Degree Level 2, and Degree Level 3, with core modules and elective modules. Studio-based learning is supported by industry placement and agency visits, and an internship for a minimum period of 16 weeks. You can also choose to opt in to the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme for two degree certificates and transcripts upon graduation.

Entry requirements

Direct Entry to Level 1 of the Degree

  • STPM: A Pass in STPM with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects.
  • A-Level: 2 Passes (Grade A-D) in A-Level.
  • UEC: 5 Grade B’s in UEC.
  • Matriculation/ Foundation: A Pass in Matriculation or Foundation studies with minimum CGPA of 2.00.
  • Note: Pass an Interview OR submission of Design Portfolio as required.

Entry to Level 2 of the Degree

  • Related Diploma: A Diploma or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a credit in English at SPM or its equivalent; OR a Diploma in Media and Communication or its equivalent.
  • A pass in DKM / DLKM / DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to HEP Senate/ Academic Board’s approval. Those with CGPA of 2.00 need at least two years working experience.
  • Equivalent qualification and / or experience which is recognised by the Senate / institution.
  • Note: The above entry requirements may differ for specific programmes based on the latest programme standards published by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The qualification and entry requirements for the programmes will be determined based on the "Comparison List of Equivalency of International Qualifications with SPM (O-Levels equivalent) and STPM (A-Levels equivalent)" published by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
