The Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) Majoring in Software Engineering develops software engineering fundamentals and trains students to complete the software development process from requirement analysis and design to implementing and testing. Core study includes Information Technology Fundamentals, Human Computer Interaction, Information Security, Web Systems and Technologies, Databases, and Programming modules such as Fundamentals of Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, and Programming Principles and Techniques. The specialization includes subjects such as Systems Analysis & Design, Software Engineering, Requirements Engineering, and Software Testing and Maintenance.
The programme runs for 3 Years. It uses conventional teaching and Open Distance Learning, and it includes Internship for Information Technology. Students also complete a Final Year Project Paper with a Minor Project and a Major Project. The curriculum includes MPU and university courses, core courses, a specialization in Software Engineering, and elective courses where students choose any FOUR (12 Credits).
Graduates can pursue roles including Software Engineer, IT Engineer, Systems Analyst, Software Designer, Software Architect, IT Consultant, Software Quality Control Officer, Software Tester, and Software Developer, including a role listed as Software Engineer (Salesforce Developer).
