The Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons) at Brickfields Asia College includes modules in probability and statistics, mathematics, programming techniques, database systems, systems development, computer organisation and architecture, and programming through object-oriented methods. You also study software engineering, operating systems, data communications and networks, and topics such as systems thinking through ethics and civilisation, plus philosophy and current issues.
Learning is organised across two years of modules. Year 1 covers core computing and analytical skills, including programming, database command work with SQL statements, and system analysis and design. Year 2 continues with computing themes through modules such as data structures & algorithms, mobile device programming, service-oriented architecture, and professional communication. Some modules include group-based application, such as applying data structures and algorithms through small groups.
