Diploma in Accounting

The Diploma in Accounting at Perdana University provides a foundation in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and business management. Students study financial reporting through courses such as Financial Accounting I and Financial Accounting II, as well as cost management through Costing I, Costing II, Management Accounting, and Advanced Accounting. They also study taxation through Taxation I and Taxation II, plus finance, business law, and business information through Principles of Finance, Business Law, and Management Information System.

The programme is delivered as a full-time course over 2 years or part-time over 4 years. It is structured into semesters across Year 1 and Year 2, with modules that include Computerised Accounting, English For Communication, Organisational Behaviour, Partnership And Company Law, Auditing, and Industrial Training. Career-focused course content includes Service Learning Malaysia and Industrial Training.

Graduates can pursue roles including Bookkeeper, Tax Assistant, Financial Analyst, Budget Analyst, Loan Officer, Junior Accountant, and Audit Assistant. The programme is eligible for PTPTN financing.

• Possess SPM with at least THREE (3) credits in any subject (inclusive of Mathematics and a pass in English or any equivalent qualification); OR
• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum Grade C of Grade Point (GP) 2.00 in a subject and a credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level (or Mathematics equivalent to SPM); OR
• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass) and a credit in Mathematics and a pass English at SPM level (or Mathematics equivalent to SPM); OR
• Possess SKM Level 3 in a related field. (Candidates without Mathematics can be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment to determine their competencies in Mathematics that are equivalent to SPM level); OR
• A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with at least a CGPA of 2.00; OR
• Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Notes: Candidates can be admitted if their admission qualification contains Mathematics and English subject(s) equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level. Those without a credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level or equivalent can be admitted but will be required to take and pass reinforcement Mathematics and English subject. The reinforcement Mathematics and English subject must be offered in the first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer.

If a student does not meet this requirement, the HEP must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student's proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the programme.
