The Diploma in Psychology at Universiti Selangor is a comprehensive program that introduces the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. Students cover core psychological knowledge across biological, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology. The program also includes research methods covering research design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of psychological phenomena, alongside ethical practices for professional and ethical standards in psychology.
Students complete structured practical exposure in relevant industries to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts. The practical component supports learning about workplace dynamics and professional conduct, and helps build hands-on experience. The program also develops communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and digital literacy and numeracy skills for research and professional practice.
A Pass in SPM with a minimum of THREE (3) credits in any subject and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/General Science/ Applied Science*; OR
A Pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/Applied Science*; at SPM level; OR
A Pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science at SPM level*;OR
A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in the relevant fields with at least CGPA of 2.00 and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science at SPM level*;OR
Pass SKM Level 3, MQF in the relevant fields;OR
Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.
Notes:
Applicants must have at least a pass in Mathematics and Science in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). For those who do not meet this requirement, they may enroll in equivalent bridging courses offered at UNISEL, designed to fulfill the Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/General Science/ Applied Science prerequisites for the program.
