Master of Design Innovation

UOW Malaysia KDU offers a Master of Design (Innovation) for professionals with some knowledge or experience in design. The course focuses on strategic design and innovation, including how to bring ideas to life and use new technologies. Students also explore social, cultural, economic, and environmental influences on design, and develop critical leadership skills for real-world decision-making.

The program is delivered as a practice-focused master’s course. It includes a core set of modules covering visual design, research methodology, design project proposal, web design and user experience, advertising and unconventional communication, new media design, brand design and dynamic identity, interaction design, information design, and a graduate showcase. Students also select 1 elective subject. The minimum duration is 1 year 4 months, with full-time and part-time options.

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor Degree: Completed with a min. CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent qualifications
• Candidates with below CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted with a min. of 5 years relevant working experience, subject to institutional approval

English Requirement

• Local Student : Band 5 in MUET
• International Student : Band 6.0 in IELTS; or a min score of 60 (IBT) or 8.5 (Essentials-Online) in TOEFL; or Cambridge English (169); or PTE Academic (59)
