Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Coursework Graduate Entry

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (Coursework) at Perdana University is a graduate-entry programme for students with non-Occupational Therapy first degrees. It is designed to prepare students for professional work in occupational therapy through study across occupational therapy foundations, occupational science and analysis, enabling occupations, and contemporary issues in areas such as community health, mental health, musculoskeletal conditions, ageing and health, and sexuality and disability.

The programme runs for 2 years, with intake in April and September. It is delivered through hybrid learning in the Kuala Lumpur campus in Damansara and combines theoretical and practical teaching in small groups with whole cohort lectures. Students complete clinical placements in paediatrics, mental health, musculoskeletal conditions, and neurological and medical areas, plus a final clinical placement, and they must fulfil 1000 hours of clinical placement as recommended by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 in any field (except Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy), as accepted by the Senate of Perdana University;
• OR A Bachelor’s degree in any field (except Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy) with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 (and not meeting a CGPA of 2.5) can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment (e.g. interview, related certification studies, working experience of 5 years).

Pre-requisite Courses (For candidates without a qualification in the related field): Anatomy and Physiology; Introduction to Psychology; Basic Pathology; Introduction to Occupational Therapy

Achieve a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent for international students.
