6 findings
  1. The short answer

Petronas Technology University is a Malaysian university for students who want an institution linked to research in energy security, sustainable living, and regenerative futures. It suits applicants who want to study in Malaysia and are comfortable checking course details and admissions requirements directly with the university.

  2. What you can study

The university’s research activity is centred on energy security, sustainable living, and regenerative futures, in collaboration with PETRONAS. The programme catalogue is not published in the information available here, so confirm the current subjects and degree options on the university’s official website before applying.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should apply through the university’s official admissions process and check the website for entry requirements, required documents, deadlines, and any programme-specific conditions. The university should also be contacted directly to confirm whether the course you want is open to international students and what supporting documents are needed.

  4. What it costs

The university does not publish a fee for international students; confirm the current tuition rate with its admissions office. Living costs will depend on accommodation, transport, and personal spending in Malaysia, so check current local expenses before deciding.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not stated, so confirm this on the official website before you apply. Also check visa steps, document legalisation, intake dates, and whether your chosen programme has any language or academic prerequisites for international students.

  6. How it compares

Malaysia has 152 universities, so this institution sits in a large national system. Its main distinguishing points are its research focus and its link to PETRONAS, which may matter more to applicants looking for a research-oriented university than a broad general comparison with other Malaysian institutions.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
