Masters Scholarships 2023 Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden

There is a separate application for scholarships administrated by Chalmers. You can apply after you have submitted your programme application at universityadmissions.se, since you will have to identify yourself with that application number. The scholarships that are listed below are applicable to prospective students only. You apply prior to the first academic year at Chalmers, it is not open to current students. The scholarship offers are valid for 2 years of study, under certain conditions. The conditions are outlined in the Scholarship Regulations.

This is an overview of important dates throughout the application process, up to the beginning of your Master’s studies.

All deadlines are midnight CET (Central European TIME) at the end of the day on the date indicated.​

Application and enrolment for Master’s programmes 2023

 17 October 2022 – 16 January 2023 – Submit your application!

The online application service portal is open. Open an account and choose programmes/university at universityadmissions.se or antagning.se (application deadline at midnight CET).

The application period for Master’s programmes opens for national and international students.

 

 

How to apply for Master’s programmes

Late November 2022 – Mid-January 2023 – Apply for a scholarship

An application for scholarships administered by Chalmers University of Technology is a separate application process.
Take note, the SI scholarships are not administered by Chalmers.

Application for scholarships for fee-paying students only

 

1 February 2023 – The deadline for paying the application fee (if required) 

The deadline for providing proof of being exempted (EU/EEA citizens etc.) or paying the application fee. If required, pay the application fee to universityadmissions.se. Note, one or the other is required in order for your application to be processed. This is an non-refundable administrative fee.

1 February 2023 – The deadline for all supporting documentation, to complete your application

No documents should be sent directly to Chalmers University of Technology.

 

 

The list of required documents is specific to Chalmers and applies to all applicants including those with a Swedish personal identity number and/or Swedish citizenship.
If a project portfolio is a prerequisite for the programme you are applying to, this deadline applies too. The instructions specific to project portfolios are listed at section 7 at the page Required documents.

November – 1 February 2023 – Chalmers Specific Entry Requirement Form

It is recommended to complete this on-line form to facilitate the assessment of your application. It is not mandatory.

30 March 2023 – Publication of the official Notification of Selection Results

The Notification of Selection Results from university admissions is available online as a printable PDF file, so no hard copy is sent by regular mail. The print-out serves as the official document and should be used when you need to present an official copy of your selection results. Such as when applying for a residence permit with the Swedish MIgration Agency.

31 March 2023 – Late applications may be submitted if the programme has vacant study places

It may be possible to submit a late application for some Master’s programmes. Note, Chalmers does not guarantee the processing of applications submitted after the general deadline, even when the application fee has been paid.
The notification of selection result is available from Mid-May.

 

 

Conditions for a late application to Chalmers

Mid-March to early May 2023 – Scholarship Award Notifications

The Scholarship Award Notifications will be sent out (by e-mail) to all grant recipients. In order to keep your scholarship offer, you have to confirm that you accept the offered scholarship. Instructions will follow in your scholarship offer notification. Make sure to confirm by the specified deadline.

All applicants will receive an email with information regardless of whether or not they have been awarded a scholarship.
Note, this applies to scholarships administered by Chalmers University of Technology only (the SI scholarships are NOT administrated by Chalmers).

No restrictions of complementary funding

Being granted alternative or complementary funding from external patrons does not affect the possibility of obtaining scholarships from Chalmers as an applicant’s financial status is not taken into account during the nomination process.

75% tuition fee waivers awarded by Chalmers. These scholarships are available to all fee-paying students. Avancez! is the motto of the university founder William Chalmers.

Awarded to a Master’s programme applicant from Central or South America (including Mexico).

A 280 000 SEK reduction of the tuition fees during the Master’s programme (4 semesters/2 years).

The fund award up to 10 scholarships annually to prospective Master’s students who are citizens of Estonia. The scholarship covers 8500 SEK/month for three semesters.

Note:
 Students will be awarded only one scholarship funded by the Swedish Government. But keep in mind that students can hold extra funding in the form of scholarships or grants administrated by governmental or non-governmental entities from their own home countries or abroad, in addition to a scholarship awarded by Chalmers or the Swedish Institute.
