University of Groningen Eric Bleumink Fellowship

The University of Groningen Eric Bleumink Fellowship provides a grant for Master’s degree programmes (MSc/MA/LL.M.) with the stated purposes of supporting Master-level study. The grant provider is the University of Groningen.

The fellowship is aimed at candidates who have received provisional or unconditional admission for a Master programme and who hold the nationality of a country listed in Appendix 1. The programme covers Master (MSc/MA/LL.M.) programmes at the University of Groningen across all countries of origin listed on the page.

Selection is based on the criteria listed for eligible candidates, including academic performance and English proficiency. The University of Groningen Admission Office, in consultation with the Admission Boards of its faculties, determines which applicants will be nominated for an Eric Bleumink Fellowship scholarship.

The grant is awarded for a 1 year or 2 years Master’s degree programme starting in September only. The grant covers tuition fee, costs of international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance. Applicants have no other means of financing the study in question and must be available for the whole period of the programme.

• Must have received provisional or unconditional admission for a master programme before February (only then will applicants be considered for a grant).
• Must have excellent academic performance, preferably confirmed by letters of recommendation.
• Must have excellent grades during bachelor/undergraduate studies.
• Must have excellent English language proficiency, in accordance with the admission requirements of the programme of choice.
• Must be available for the whole period of the programme and able to take part in the entire programme.
• Must be in good health so that health insurance in the Netherlands can be arranged.
• Must hold the nationality of a country appearing in Appendix 1.
• Must have no other means of financing the study in question.

1. Do not actively apply for an Eric Bleumink Fellowship Scholarship; suitable candidates will be informed about a nomination.
2. Complete a Master application (provisional or unconditional admission) before 1st of December to allow enough time for processing by the Admission Office.
3. After admission offers are in place, the University of Groningen Admission Office (in consultation with faculty Admission Boards) determines which applicants will be nominated.
