Diploma in Business Level 5 Administration and Technology

The Open Polytechnic offers the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5) (Administration and Technology), an online qualification at academic level 5. It focuses on applying knowledge and skills to support business operational objectives, using ethical and inclusive practice in a multi-cultural environment and in accordance with ngā kaupapa o te Tiriti o Waitangi (the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi).

You study online using course materials at a pace that suits you between the course start and end dates. The programme is delivered through online study, with no need to travel to a campus. There are no scheduled online classes to fit into your week, but some courses may include an in-person component such as practicum, workshops, noho marae or exam. A course facilitator guides you, with support from a Student Mentor and the Library and Learning Centre teams.

On completion, you will know how to analyse operational impacts on a business entity, apply knowledge of operations, accounting, marketing/sales, human resources, and risk management, and contribute operationally to innovation and organisational change. You will also learn to manage business administration functions and projects, select and support business technologies, and manage and evaluate administrative systems and processes to recommend improvements.
