Diploma in Business Level 5 Project Management

The Open Polytechnic New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5) (Project Management) develops skills to contribute to business operational objectives through applied knowledge and skills. You study how to analyse internal and external environments to inform decision-making, apply principles and practices across operations, accounting, marketing/sales, human resources, and risk management, and support innovation and organisational change. You also apply knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi to operational business activities and relationships.

Project management learning covers managing projects through their entire life cycle using project management knowledge, tools, and techniques. You also learn how to manage stakeholder engagement through the project. Delivery is online study. You work through online course materials at a pace that suits you between the course start and end dates, with support from a course facilitator, a Student Mentor, and the Library and Learning Centre teams.

On completion of the project management strand, you may be employed as project managers in a variety of businesses. The qualification also indicates you may contribute to community groups in volunteer project management roles.
