The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme at Azad Jammu and Kashmir University provides a foundation in legal principles, critical thinking, and practical legal skills. Students study Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Property Law, and Legal Ethics, alongside Legal Drafting & Pleadings, Human Rights, Jurisprudence, and International Law.
Delivery follows a semester system across the university and its affiliated colleges. The programme includes a compulsory 6–8 week internship (3 credit hours) and a capstone project (3 credit hours) supervised by faculty. Students must maintain 75% attendance in each semester to be eligible for final examinations.
The programme is designed to prepare graduates for careers as lawyers, judges, academics, policymakers, or further legal studies. Learning outcomes include advocacy, drafting, and argumentation, plus advanced legal research and critical analysis, and ethical and professional conduct.
Eligibility Criteria: 12 years of education (HSSC/A-Levels) with at least 45% marks. Minimum 50% score in HEC Law Admission Test (LAT). Other requirements as prescribed by HEC and the University.
