Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the University of Santo Tomas (offered by the UST-Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy) prepares students for assurance and audit services for statutory financial reporting, tax-related services, management advisory work, and planning and performance and control systems. Students study accounting functions and reporting frameworks, auditing standards and procedures, regulatory frameworks, and information and communication technology, alongside Catholic, Christian, and ethical teachings.

The program is organized around knowledge, skills, and attitudes such as presentation and reporting skills, accounting skills, leadership and collaboration, documentation and report writing, and professional skepticism. It uses program intended learning outcomes that include conducting accounting and assurance engagements, presenting financial reports using appropriate communication and information technology, and applying Christian teachings and ethical principles in professional and personal life.
