Master of Science in Physical Therapy

The Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Santo Tomas is designed for self-directed physical therapists who want advanced competencies as clinicians, educators, administrators, and researchers. The curriculum includes prerequisite work in St. Thomas and Critical Thinking and Health Research Methods, core courses such as Evidence-Based Health Care, Biomechanics and Motor Control, and Clinical Reasoning and Differential Diagnosis in Physical Therapy, and major courses covering education, leadership, and clinical practice across orthopedic and neurologic areas.

Learning is organised through prerequisite, core, and major course units, followed by a research or clinical track. Evidence-Based Health Care includes completing a full systematic review and presenting it in a colloquium. Clinical practice includes hands-on manual therapy approaches such as Maitland, McKenzie, Mulligan, and Neurodynamics, plus reading and interpreting X-ray, CT, MRI, MSUS, and EMG findings, along with case analysis that is presented in written and oral formats.
