Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry with Second Major in Environmental Science

Students take a full-time Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry with a Second Major in Environmental Science. The programme combines chemistry with environmental science, covering environmental management, earth systems, and pollution. It focuses on how human impacts on the environment connect to scientific understanding and on designing systems to detect, mitigate, and correct environmental problems.

The curriculum includes core courses and interdisciplinary collaborative core courses, plus second major courses in environmental science with a choice of Earth Sciences or Environmental Management courses. Students complete a Final Year Project and follow a track that includes either a Professional Internship or a Professional Attachment, with a Professional Internship/Professional Attachment option also available as a track structure.

This programme is run by the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) in partnership with the Asian School of the Environment and the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Graduates have career prospects in environmental consultancies, regulatory agencies, and the chemical industry.

• Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level: H2 Level pass in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics.

• International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics at Higher Level.
• NUS High School Diploma: Major CAP of 2.0 in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics.
• Others (including international applicants): A good grade in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics at the senior high school level, equivalent to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level or International Baccalaureate.
