The Diploma in Applied Chemistry involves applied chemistry work that can connect to life sciences. Students presented interdisciplinary projects that bridge chemistry and biology, including research on developing synthetic peptide-based alternatives related to cultured meat, and work on edible bird’s nest authentication.
Learning is supported through staff and student collaboration, and students use research and development capabilities in project presentations. Students also gain feedback from judges, professors, and researchers, and engage with peers from other institutions at the Young Scientists’ Symposium, which is organised by the Singapore Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Science Centre Singapore.
