Diploma in Gerontology Community Care Practice

The Specialist Diploma in Gerontology (Community Care Practice) at Temasek Polytechnic provides essential knowledge and skills to design and implement interventions that facilitate healthy ageing and integrated health and social care for seniors with diverse needs. It includes learning to mobilise community resources, strengthen stakeholder partnerships, perform basic health coaching and social prescribing, and assist with case management to address complex psychosocial and health issues.

To earn the Specialist Diploma, participants complete a total of 2 Post-Diploma Certificates, with a certificate issued after successful completion of each Post-Diploma Certificate. Learning uses Facilitated Learning (face-to-face/online synchronous) plus asynchronous e-learning, and includes a few onsite practical sessions at Temasek Polytechnic and Ren Ci premises. Assessment includes practical tests and practical assignments, as well as written tests and written assignments.

A Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma/Technical Engineer Diploma/ Work-Learn Technical Diploma or equivalent
