Korea Seoul National University Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS)

The Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS) is a scholarship program offered for graduate applicants at Seoul National University. Applicants may apply for the program before or during the admission application period. The annual announcement is posted on the university’s website.

It is aimed at non-Korean applicants who are currently enrolled in or have graduated from eligible countries, and who have applied for and been accepted into Seoul National University. It also requires that applicants applied for designated colleges or schools participating in the GSFS Program, and the list of participating colleges/schools changes each semester.

Selection is done through the scholarship application submitted at the same time as the online admission application (with the scholarship application box checked). Respective colleges or schools select recipients based on admission documents, and applicants are then informed of the decision.

GSFS provides full tuition exemption for a maximum of 4 semesters. Living expenses are provided as a monthly minimum of 500,000 KRW, with the amount differing according to recipients’ majors.

1. Submit an online application for admission to Seoul National University’s Office of Admissions.
2. Check the box for application for the GSFS scholarship during the online admission application.
3. After the admission application, selection is made by the respective Colleges/Schools based on admission documents.
4. Wait for the decision notice.
