Master of Theology Systematic Theology H2rtm Mtst

The Master of Theology, specializing in systematic theology, builds advanced knowledge of the Christian doctrinal tradition and how theology relates to politics and ethics. The programme also covers areas including the role of faith in politics and public debate, questions of justice, and the relation between science and religion. A mandatory course—Hermeneutics, Theology, and the Uses of the Bible—runs for students of both specializations, alongside elective courses connected to your specialization.

Göteborg University offers the programme with regular contact with teachers throughout courses and thesis work, in an international learning environment. Students write their master’s thesis throughout the second year in parallel with course work, while taking courses and participating in seminars. The programme is available as campus study and as distance study, with study pace set to 100% and courses plus thesis work delivered across the stated duration.

Modules

• Hermeneutics, Theology, and the Uses of the Bible

Bachelor's degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. The applicant's university education must include a thesis, dissertation, degree project or substantial term paper, or equivalent proof of proficiency in academic writing.

Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 5/English A from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.
