Jönköping University Scholarships

Jönköping University (JU) offers a limited number of scholarships to students who pay tuition fees and fulfil the scholarship requirements, assessed as able to complete their studies adequately (per JU scholarship Terms and Conditions pdf). JU awards scholarships in amounts ranging from 10% to 30% of the tuition fee for the bachelor or master programme to which the student has been admitted.

JU scholarship selection is aimed at students who must be citizens of a country that requires them to pay tuition fees in Sweden, and who are required to pay tuition fees for studies at Jönköping University. Applicants must have applied to an on-site bachelor or master programme offered by JU by the scholarship application deadline, and submit a complete scholarship application by that deadline; applicants may submit even if they have not yet received a programme offer.

JU states the scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit with an emphasis on academic excellence. Scholarship applications are processed only after the corresponding programme application is completed and all required documents have been sent, including for central admission through university admissions and for the JU Direct Application. JU notifies awarded students by 7 May; if tuition fee has been paid before 7 May, a deduction is made from the invoice for the second instalment of tuition fee to the sum of the scholarship. Awarded students must confirm acceptance on time or the offer is revoked.

• No requirement to reside in the country of citizenship at the time of submitting the application.
• Required to pay tuition fees for studies at Jönköping University.
• Applied to a bachelor or master level programme offered on-site at Jönköping University by the scholarship application deadline.
• Submitted a complete scholarship application by the deadline.
• Applicants may submit a scholarship application by the deadline if they have applied to a programme but have not yet received an offer to the programme.
• Granted students may not combine the JU scholarship with a scholarship offered through agreements between JU and different organizations such as FIDERH, FUNED in Mexico, and COLFUTURO in Colombia.
• Granted students may still be approved for financial support from those different organizations.

• Tuition fee reduction for bachelor or master programmes.
• Amount: 10% to 30% of the tuition fee for the admitted programme.
• Billing effect: if tuition fee has been paid before 7 May, a deduction is made from the invoice for the second instalment of tuition fee to the sum of the scholarship.

1. Submit a scholarship application using the online form linked as “Apply here”.
2. Ensure the scholarship application is valid only when submitted using the online form above.
3. Confirm the scholarship application includes the required items: study application number, letter(s) of recommendation, individual statement, and email address matching the address used for the study application.
4. After submitting the scholarship application, ensure the corresponding programme application is completed and all required documents have been sent, since JU processes scholarship applications only after that.
5. Monitor for notification of the scholarship decision by 7 May.
6. If awarded, submit the mandatory confirmation of acceptance within the required time; otherwise, JU states the scholarship offer will be revoked.

• Individual statement: includes educational experience and career plans; maximum 200 words.
