MA Music Performance Violoncello 21293

The MA Music Performance, Violoncello prepares students for ensemble, orchestra, and solo careers. Students study within a Major-Minor-Studies model: they choose a study focus through the Major and can select one or two Minors, or they can choose an individual study area made up of open courses available across disciplines.

Orchestra training has a central role, with participation in the orchestra formations “Orchester der ZHdK,” the ensemble for contemporary music “Arc-en-Ciel,” and the chamber ensemble “Kammerensemble der ZHdK.” Students can also take part in regular public masterclasses and work within ensembles such as contemporary music. The program offers live electronics and multimedia, audioproductions with in-house sound engineers, historical instrument collections, a device pool for borrowing, and a library.
