The MA Specialized Performance, Choral Conducting is a Master of Arts focused on choral conducting. Students study within a major that can be combined with one or two minors to deepen or expand competencies, or with an Individual Area of Study. The programme includes work in Choral Conducting and Historically Informed Performance Practice, covering historical and contemporary performance practice, alongside ensemble work linked to Contemporary Music.
Students begin in the Autumn semester and complete a Standard period of study of 4 semesters. The coursework is 90 / 120 credits. Main teaching language is German/English. Study choices follow a Major-Minor programme model, and an Individual Area of Study uses cross-disciplinary courses with special admissions requirements and limited places. Learning support includes studio and performance infrastructure such as live electronics and multimedia, audio productions, historical instrument collections, and extensive equipment for loan.
